snips and sails and puppy dog tails....that's what little boys are made of
I am definately finding my stride as a mom of 2 boys:) It wasn't something that came natural to me. Being a mom, of course, was the easy part... but figuring out what boys like was a WHOLE 'nother story. I am a girly girl and getting pee'd on the first 4 times I changed my new baby's diaper was not what I had signed up for. Wow how I have changed! I admit I still have my frilly and fluffy outlets but they do not bring me as much joy as getting tackled by a 3 year old.
You have to be a mother of a boy to understand what it feels like to find a rock left in their jeans pocket when you go to wash them. It isn't something I get upset about. It is proof that a little boy's world is always a treasure hunt.
My boys often have grass stains on their pants and holes in the knees. It is proof that tackiling the dog can be more fun than anything else you can conjur up.
Oh, of course, there are nights when the sofa is not used for sitting, but it is a plush landing for the newest superhero in town to make his brave entrance.
One too many times I have learned that Star Wars characters hide under the lampshades to get away from the evil Sith Lords.
Daily I am lectured that books are not to be read until bed time, but in the meantime they are tents for Thomas, Percy and James until they get back to tidmouth sheds....
It is so fun to have every moment filled with adventures and new ideas. My heart is full and my dreams are a reality. I would not have it any other way.
Here is to little boys who get dirty all day and still liked to be cuddled and loved when the sun goes down

pre-engagement session
Sara and I have a lot of things in common, but one of the most important is how much we love parenting.
So you guessed it, we have decided to bring BACK the fading trend of ARRANGED MARRIAGES!
We have decided that is THEE only way that we will keep the BLONDE hair BLUE-eyed population alive.
Although you may seem SKEPTIC, we both are praying moms so you just NEVER know:)
haha all kidding aside, we both have a great love of hobbies and creativity. So it was only natural that we
had this little playdate/ photo session with our crazy cute kids.
So after we got this "let's get inspired" urge we tossed some books, old chipped shabby chic chairs, and our kids into Sara's truck and to the farm we went. Oh, we didn't have to go far! Sara has beautiful fields and crops just next door. It is unbelievable! Peaceful. Serene. And full of KILLER mosquitoes. Totally worth being eatin alive to get a handful of cute pictures don't ya think?!

Speak and be heard
"Because you CAN'T be perfect... just be you" has become my new life mantra (accidentally). As a mom I realize that teaching your children to be who they are in every instance in life is very important. That your children need to stay true to their character no matter the circumstance. I have (several times) been leary on this very statement. Wondering if sometimes I should keep my mouth shut when I have an opinion. And well some of you may say "Yes, keep it shut" I disagree. I am so greatful that my parents encouraged me to share my thoughts publicly. Of course, I have made some mistakes... but those mistakes helped me see things I wanted to change about myself. Those mistakes also helped me see who my real friends are. And those mistakes brought me wisdom from others. I want my children to be able to defend who they are and what they stand for. I also want them to have the guts to stand up for someone else when they see the need. I know there will be a time when they will be challenged, and if they do not know how to stand up for themselves then who will? My kids will have the confidence to defend their hearts. To defend eachother. And most importantly defend their faith. As long as they have the courage to speak I believe one day there will be an audience to hear it.
